REFLEXOLOGY FOR LYMPHOEDEMA PRACTITIONERS

There is a reason why this Advanced Level is only for fully trained Lymphoedema Practitioners. 

• Lymphoedema is a very serious medical condition, and needs a lot of professionalism to treat and understand it.
• There are some very ill people with this condition, and it requires a lot more than Reflexology to treat it.
• Having the knowledge of Lymphoedema is essential to do the Advance Level. 
• Our first priority is to give our patients/clients the care and professional treatment they deserve. 
• Manual Lymphatic Drainage Therapy, Skin care, medical compression garments, bandaging & special exercises has priority for our clients/patients. Without this knowledge, you should not be treating a lymphoedema client. There are a lot of contra-indications treating Lymphoedema, hence the importance to be qualified in this area. 

How can Reflexology help Lymphoedema Patients?

There are documented case studies of cancer patients with Stage1 lymphoedema in legs and arms, that have had good results in reducing fluid in their limbs. They still received their professional lymphoedema treatment, but found Reflexology helped with their reduction as well. Clients can be shown how to do this themselves at home as well. If they find it hard to reach their feet, show them how to work Reflexology on their hands. 

The other benefit treating Lymphoedema with Reflexology is all the other issues the patient/client has. This is why we need their medical history, plus anything they are dealing with every day. 

Course Requirements

If you have qualifications as a Lymphoedema Practitioner with the Lymphoedema Academy of Australia Pty Ltd, you will need to provide your Student ID to register as proof of your qualifications. 

If you have qualifications in Lymphoedema from another company, you will need to contact us first, by emailing proof of your qualifications and the name of the company you did your course with and the date. You will be required to sit for a Theory and Practical exam to prove you have sufficient knowledge treating Lymphoedema. There will be a charge of $150 to sit this exam.
